Medical Physicist performs an important role in radiation oncology working along with the radiation oncologist and radiotherapy technologist to ensure accurate Planning and delivery of radiation dose to cancer patients.
They are also responsible for Radiation Safety aspects of Blood Irradiator in Blood Bank, Cyclotron and in PET-CT.
Teaching: Medical Physicists are taking Radiation Physics subject for DNB, Medical Physicists and Radiotherapy Technologists. In future we are having plans to start Radiation oncology nursing course

Dr NVN Madhusudhan Sresty : He has been working in this department since 2005.He did his Radiological Physics training course from BARC, Mumbai in 2003 after his master degree in Physics. He got awarded Doctorate in the field of Radiation Oncology Physics in 2010.He published two research papers in reputed international journals. He also presented many papers in conferences on different topics.
Subash A Macharla : He has been working as Senior Medical Physicist in this department since 2007.He did his MSc (Medical Physics) course from Anna University, Chennai. He has been doing PhD in the field of medical physics. He also presented papers in national/international conferences.
Birendra Kumar rout: He has been working as Medical Physicist and Radiological safety officer in this department since 2007.He did his MSc from Fakir Mohan University, Radiological Physics training course from BARC, Mumbai. He has been doing PhD in the field of medical physics in JNTU. He presented two papers in conferences on Medical Physics.
A Mallikarjuna: He has been working as Medical Physicist in this department since 2007.He did his MSc in Physics. He completed his Radiological Physics training course from BARC, Mumbai. He has been doing PhD in the field of medical physics.
T Anil Kumar: He has been working as Medical Physicist in this department since 2007.He did his MSc in Physics. He completed his Radiological Physics training course from BARC, Mumbai. He has been doing PhD in the field of medical physics in JNTU. He presented a paper in the field of Medical Physics.
Soubhagya Bhudevi Kulakarni: She has been working as a Senior Medical Physicist in this department since 2008.She did MSc in Physics. She completed her Radiological Physics training course from BARC, Mumbai. She has been doing PhD in the field of medical physics in JNTU. She presented several papers in conferences.
Shabbir Ahmed: He has been working as Medical Physicist in this department since 2007.He did his MSc in Physics. He completed his Radiological Physics training course from BARC, Mumbai.
Lakshmi Anil: She has been working as Medical Physicist in this department since 2010.She did her M.Sc in Physics from Nagarjuna University and completed Radiological Physics training course from BARC, Mumbai.
Ramakrishna K: He has been working as Medical Physicist in this department since 2010.He did M.Sc in Physics and Radiological Physics training course from Osmania University.
Technologists: More than 30 technologists are working in this department. They are all trained in Radiotherapy technologist course and also certified by Babha Atomic Research Center, Mumbai.
