R & D

Research and Development Division

Vision

R & D Division of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute is established with a vision to have a world class translational cancer research institute to further the drive against cancer. The R&D Division keeps its focus and engage itself in:

»  Uncovering anti-cancer properties of bioactive compounds and discover novel, effective anti-cancer drugs (with less side effects) using RNAi/ miRNA based approaches, and adapting stem cell based adjuvant therapies.

»  Developing/ adopting emerging molecular and biochemical diagnostic, prognostic, drug efficacy and drug toxicity tests based on pharmacogenetics/ pharmacogenomics/ proteomic approaches. This is to bring the new technologies to the clinical setting to support and enhance our Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute’s ability to detect the disease early-on and to pin-point the nature of the cancer and its subsets.

»  Identifying extrinsic/ lifestyle factors that contribute to carcinogenesis, to develop cancer prevention strategies.

»  Actively participating in the research activities of the scientific community that is spearheading war against cancer.

»  Training future cancer researchers.

Thus, make effective and significant contributions towards fight against cancer by striving hard and diligently to develop strategies, to identify cancer susceptible population, treat cancer patients and alleviate their pain and suffering.
